Former United National Party (UNP) General Secretary and current Minister of Health, Tissa Attanayake said, although the Joint Opposition denied his claim that Ranil and Maithri had entered into a secret pact, they had not denied the contents of the document he had exposed.
He added although the Joint Opposition has presented a number of arguments against the document, he presented, he would not budge from his position.
“If anyone has a problem with the document, I presented, they have the right to ask for an inquiry. However, the Joint Opposition has not denied anything I revealed. They are just saying that the signature on the document is wrong. But this is a document I received when I was the General Secretary of the UNP. There are articles that agree to betray soldiers. The Joint Opposition has agreed to hold an inquiry against war heroes in its manifesto,” he said.
He added that Maithripala Sirisena signed an agreement with Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU), Sarath Fonseka and even with the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), according to some. These agreements have also not been revealed, he said.
