New Chairman at Lankaputhra Development Bank.

Mr. Lasantha Goonewardena assumed duties as the Chairman of Lankaputhra Development Bank (LDB) at a special ceremony held at the LDB Head Office recently. Mr. Goonewardena is a highly-experienced individual with years of experience across several industries during his illustrious career. He is a Computer Hardware Engineer by profession and is an outstanding Old Boy of Royal College, Colombo 7. He pursued Computer Science in Singapore and the United Kingdom where he obtained an Honours Diploma.

Having joined the Lions Club of Colombo Mid City in 1993, he rose through the ranks in a short period of time and was elected as the District Governor of the Lions Clubs International District 306 C2, in the process becoming the youngest Lion in the world to reach such a position. As a community leader and a social worker he has toured several countries including USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Germany, France, Australia, Taiwan, Thailand and gained international exposure.

He continues to play an active role in community service while also being the leading business entrepreneur since 1993. 

Sharing his views at the function, Mr. Goonewardena expressed his firm commitment to the continued progress and growth of Lankaputhra Development Bank. Dr. Harsha de Silva - Deputy Minister of Policy Planning, Economic Affairs, Child, Youth and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Lasantha Amarasekara - General Manager/CEO of LDB and Mr. Suranimala Rajapaksha - Prime Minister’s Coordinating Officer were part of the large gathering at the function.
